there is a post somewhere on here listing all the safe ones

I'll have to look for it! The natural wood ones can get pretty pricey...the only reason I bought them were because they were on sale and basically half price.

Re: Is this an okay cage?

Thanks for the reply! And my thoughts exactly...I'm not really a fan of the plastic ones, regardless of if they are easier to clean off or not. I got a few different sized wooden ones and was planning on putting some rope in as well. We webbed some rope around in our macaw's cage (it's a massive out...

Re: Guinea pig/rabbit mixture??

I got a certain type of look from Ronnie the other day when he tried to eat one of our house rabbits pellets...it was something along the lines of; "What the hell is this?! No thanks...!" Hehe, our Macaw Rockie gave us the exact same reaction when he got into some rabbit pellets at the pl...

Breeder Tamed to Pet?

So it could possibly be that I'm just not very good at navigating around this forum, but I can't seem to find any topics regarding what I have a question about. A LOT of the IRNs that I find for sale are "breeders". Perhaps my understanding of breeders isn't correct, but from what I've hea...

Re: Proud new owner of a IRN

Congratulations on your new(ish) baby! She is gorgeous! :) These forums are extremely helpful - I don't think new/prospective IRN parents could be any luckier. I look forward to reading more about Milo! What a cutie!

My soon to be baby! :):)

After months of searching, I've finally found an IRN of my own! He currently lives in Alabama and won't be shipped until the weather is warmer and more predictable (on both ends), but I was so excited I couldn't wait to show everyone :) He is around 5 months old (so I'm told) and a Clear Cap Lacewin...

Re: Bird Shipping in the USA?

Thankyou so much! That was extremely helpful. I called Delta today and they said that it should cost around $92.00 +the $20.00 I will be paying for the crate. I'm really hoping everything works out (especially that the weather cooperates). Thanks again!

Re: New :)

I know you can find some mini Macaws for around $600 in some places. Heck, we got Rockie for free :) It just depends on how much time you spend searching for a good price. Speaking of searching I think I may have found an IRN baby! I'm hoping everything works out!

Bird Shipping in the USA?

Alright, so I searched on here for any information regarding the shipment of birds in general in the USA and I couldn't find anything, so I figured I would ask. I've FINALLY found the perfect IRN addition for my family after months of searching, but the only problem is that he is located in Alabama ...

Re: New :)

Lochie: Ollie is such a cute name! I was planning on naming mine Ole (Oh-lee) :) I've heard a lot of stories about birds like that - a person buys them for their spouse (or even child/sibling) and they end up taking a liking to someone else ;-P I'm hoping to find a well socialized baby so that (hope...

New :)

Hello everybody my name is Rachel :) First of all I absolutely feel the need to say what a wonderful site! I've been looking into getting a bird of my own for the past year and after meeting a sweetie of a IRN at a local pet shop, decided to further look into the species. I've worked with numerous s...
