Cage Time

Post by tasha »

Is it alright for ringnecks to spend all day out of their cages. My Indy is only in his cage when I have to go out or if it is bed time (he puts himself in the cage about 9pm) I just want to make sure that I'm looking after him alright.

It is Ok and I am glad you brought this up.

My babies are out unless I am asleep or gone. Well, I have been working alot lately. I work from home. So, I have actually been letting my babies stay in their cage all day and just leaving the door open.

They couldnt be happier! They are actually sleeping less, more playful and funny. It also seems as though they enjoy me more when I come to see them.

I have been feeling borderline guilty but my office is at home, I am within spitting distance of all of them. I am glad I made the decision to keep them in their cage more. They are getting alot more excercise, rather than propping their fat butt on a play stand and sleeping in the sun all day.

If you look at the post titles 'pics of cages' you'll see noones baby is doing without. Why I would ever feel guilty about giving my babies more play time is beyond me. Hell, they live in Disney Land :!:

Thank you for bringing this up, it helped me work through a little of my guilt that I should be having in the first place.

As far as your fella:

He can be out all you want AS LONG as he IS NOT allowed on the floor and you have bird-proofed your home. A bird loves nothing better than to chew on a 110 volt electrical cord. I dont even have to tell you the ending result but it isnt good.
