I too would like to try to toilet train my bird. I have heard some good things with it and some bad. I have been told that sometimes the bird will become to dependant on our command to go poop as a result trying to hold it as long as they can which can damage them. However i have friend who has trained his cherry masted conure so fly to its cage when it has to go and the bird will even sleep with him with out an accident.

I am also curious on methods of teaching a bird to be potty trained.

g'day, i read somewhere that most birds dont really have much control for the first few months (so its not their fault  ) and that you shouldnt really try until around 4 months

Those cases where a bird will not go on it's own are extremely rare. It's not something anyone needs to worry about. And considering how often my IRNs poo, I can't see them holding it past a half hour even if they tried. ^^

I'm trying to use Hane's playstand when he's out, or the cage. He's usually not off those for any period of time so he should be able to learn he can poop there and not in between, lol.
