Hey all Im ready to take out my baby ringnecks for handrearing this weekend and im guessing that females are very protective of there young as when i check in the nest she doesn't move... i haven't yet opened the lid of the nest box but only peering into the hole, do you think there maybe a chance that when i open the lid that she will fly out if not is there any other way to get her out without her taking my finger off

IMO there is little chance that she will fly out, maybe wait until she comes out on her own to eat perhaps offer a treat into the aviary. I was surprised when I put my hands both the nesting boxes I have neither of my hens bit even when I grabbed one and basically threw her out of the nest box. /shrug dont reccomend that tho.
