Hi, I have a 3yr old male that is tame-I paired him up with a female about a year ago- I added a nest box a few months ago-they get along ok-but why dont they breed? The female is semi tame(will step up but thats all) but when I feed them she assumes the position and her eyes pin-does she see me as her mate? Is this possible why she will not mate with the male? What can I do to fix this
She has explored the nest box and sometimes seem upset if I open it

Sometimes tame birds dont or wont breed as well as aviary breed birds.
They can become to attached to there owners and dont worry about there mate.
This is common with all hand raised or tame birds, you can expect say out of 10 tame birds hens or cocks that about 6 or so will actually breed well for you.
But all you can do is pay less attention to the tamest bird and hope it bonds better with its mate.
