Green and grey = ?

Hello to everyone!!! I just got my first ringneck and was told that it is a green split to blue. I was wondering if there are any visual signs that the bird would in fact be split to blue. He/she is only 11 months old so I'm not sure of sex, although I think it might be showing developement of a ring. I know someone who has what she calls a light grey DNA'd female for sale, what color babies could I expexct if paired up? If my green is split to blue or if he is a normal green what would all the babies be green?adc330

Hello,

First of all, congrats on your new ringneck. There is no way to know if he is indeed split to blue other than to know what color his parents are. If one of them is blue then he definately is /blue but if they were both /blue then you have 50/50 chance that he is /blue. If you breed him with a Grey you will get...

Green/blue (m) x Grey (f)
25% Green/blue
25% Grey-green/blue
25% Blue
25% Grey
males and females

Now, since she is calling her "Light" Grey I would have to guess she is Cinnamon Grey because it is more common than the other mutations (but she could be misty, or Dom. Edged) . If she is Cinnamon Grey, the males would also be split to cinnamon. **only the males though** Then when you breed them with any color you can get Cinnamon females.
If your bird is a normal green, im not sure, but I think you would get...

Green (m) x Grey (f)
50% Green/blue
50% Grey-green/blue

and like I mentioned before, if the female is Cinnamon Grey then the males would be split to Cinnamon.
