The 2 birds at the top of this page (or are they the same bird?) have a large white cornea?? My baby Merlin seems to have all black eyes. Will he develop this whiteness, or will his eyes stay black?

yep the eyes change as they get older. the pic on the right hand side is pinning the eyes (eyes appear to go big and small)

Just like julie said. The young have 'mouse eyes' so to speak, completely dark in their juvenile state.
