I might have missed another post of yours, but why are you removing the eggs and box from the aviary?

I'm no expert,
i had a hen sitting on infertile eggs and was advised to take them out, now around a month later, she is sitting on 3 eggs so far,
hopefully someone can advise on any pro's or con's for this situation,
good luck regardless, i hope this time around i have better luck too

Well, there is no need to 'rest' her at all... I have had Indian Ringnecks pump out 5-6 young per cluch and double clutch at that, without problem... but one thing I have had experience from is they dont tend to go down again after a break.. they sorta go all or nothing during the months they have available, and im sure if you just take the box out... all you will do is put a guaranteed stop to this years breeding.

It really doesnt sound like your pair has been under pressure at all, I would take out the eggs, but leave the box there.

Hi Sheena,

First attempt for mine resulted in infertile eggs. Admittedly I removed the nest box for about a week, to try and re-initiate the bonding process because I wasn't convinced they bonded properly.
It actually worked, they fell in love, were observed mating etc and are currently sitting on eggs again (I just hope they 'did it' properly!!)

Fah's advice, as always, is the way to go, but my situation was a little different than most!
