Hello everyone. I am a new owner of a pair of IRN's(is what the petshop told me) they are about 1 1/2yo. Anyways they have always been what the guy told me in a aviary and other bird cages around them. They were nice and talkative* when we were in there . But ever since they came home with us
(about 4days now) they have not made 1 peep. Is this because they are shy and it takes time for them to get used to the new atmosphere??

We take things slow around them and try not to make sudden moves around them, as well as talk to them thruout the day.
I just have no clue what i am doing with them or if they are ok...

Any tips is greatly appreciated!

Also at this age is it too late to hand tame them or teach them to talk and fun stuff like that?? I am just horrified to be bit and looking to buy into a nice thick pair of gloves to work with them and bond.

its not too late to tame them although it will be a slow journey
your birds are still getting used to their new home they will perk up as they get used to you there are heaps of post on how to tame your birds
if you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask
can we see some pics of your birds?

hello mamabird80, just like bec said.... it will be a long journey... I adopted an adult pair about six months ago and progress goes slow... and by the way mine were quiet for aobut 5 months before they even started doing any noise... and they started making noises only during sunrise and sunset, later that chnged...

Thanks
