my first egg was supposed to hatch yesterday
and nothing has happened yet
does this mean there is something wrong with the egg
or should i just be patient?

Hi Sheena;

Be patient and do not disturb the female. Usually the time to hatch is 24 days after the hen begin sitting on eggs, and usually it happens at the third egg. So, you can see that there are too many "usually" to be considered. It also depends on temperature, on how the male is feeding the female, ...
And usually, again, you will get the 3 firsts chicks on just 2 days.
