Broken Nail

Post by ian1 »

He cracked it playing around, no blood, but plenty of crying.

Does this look like it needs to go to a vet? Hes flying about happy but is obviously trying to keep weight off it (he did it 12hrs ago).

Here are the pics

yep take him to a vet, all it would take is a little knock and it could cause him to bleed to death. I would also worry about it getting infected.

They have a fair whack of nerv endings in their nails, like other animals, so I can see why it would be hurting.

Vet trip would be required as its the best place for bacteria to enter (the only place on a bird thats in regular contact with their poop / food etc).

cheshirecat79, either your a complete idiot, or trying to cause problems, either way it might be best if you just take up some common sense and not post rediculous comments like that again.

Why do I feel your here to do nothing than cause problems? Because your post is 100% off topic and its about a rather dangerous substance for animals (especially birds).
