how long should i wait?

im realy worried about kieron
since orchid escaped last tuesday hes been frantic!!!
madly flying from one side of the cage to the other contact calling the whole time
before i bought kieron he lost a mate (thats why she sold him as she could afford another ) and pined badly for her
so what do i do? do i hold out & hope orchid returns or do i start looking for a new mate for him?

Hi Bec----Ideal result would be if she returned.I really think Id think about gettin a mate for him.I know when I lost Jilly,Jackon was upset as well.Luckily I had another hen to put in with him an luckily things are working out.No eggies yet but the both seem happy.This is only my opinion (Im fairly new to this breeding thing).Hope it helps you Bec.

im still hoping for her return but with the amount of birds of prey we have in healesville hopes sre getting slimmer each day
im just realy worried about kieron & how he's coping
after all its his second girlfiend hes lost!

Get Kieron another girl...might make Orchid come back if she has competition!!
But seriously, is Orchid still around? Maybe he can hear her and calling out for her.
I would probably lean into getting another birdy mate for him if he continues to fret.

i havent seen or heard her since saturday i sit outside when he gos nuts & listen but dont hear her but maybe his hearings better than mine?

thanks it was a bit of a bittersweet thing getting a new girl because it felt a bit like giving up on orchid
but i dont think i could stand one more day of kieron flying at the wire of the cage screaming for orchid its been really hard on him
but at the same time there was the
NEW BIRDIE YAY!!!!!!!
feeling there too

already vet checked & all healthy
