Hi wonderwoman,

How old are your birds? Was it their first time as breeders?
Sometimes the first clutch doesn't hatch as maybe either or both birds were too young or the male may not have "done the deed" correctly or in time, unexperienced hen didn't sit on the eggs properly, or incorrect humidity during incubation. There could be heaps of reason why the eggs didn't hatch.

If this clutch doesn't hatch then there could be other factors as to why, like medical etc.

Hi;

Did you open the eggs of the first clutch to see if there were embryos?
The fact of laying for a second time means that the hen is at least 2 or 3 years old.
Colours have nothing to do with fertility (at least these colours).

Cheers
