Are there any flowers that
are safe for birds to chew on or eat?

good question! I was thinking maybe orchids? like you know how if you go to a nice restaurant for breakfast or if youve ever been to like Maui, they put dendro orchids on your plate that they claim are edible.
Im not saying that its OK just because humans can eat it, but obviously, I wouldnt even think about looking into it if it wasnt even safe for humans!
I bet they would get a kick out of eating a flower... actually I think I came across a site or read somewhere that sunflowers and maybe marigolds? were ok? Ill look and see if I can find it!! Of course, I would recommend you grow them yourself to avoid pesticides or any bugs.

Australian native flowers are ok for IRN's. My little guy, Sunny, eats Grevillea and Callistemon Flowers. Sunny also enjoys tearing up the foliage from these plants as well as from Eucalyptus trees. I've also been told that Ringnecks are ok with citrus foliage, but so far i've not tried it. cheers, Bec
