What color mutation do I mate him with to produce violet babies.

Please let me know if I could mate the blue one split to violet with any color that will produce more violet. The breeder who sold it to me told me he is blue split to violet.

THERE ARE NOT BLUE SPLIT VIOLET !!!

Send a pic to tell you if your bird is a simple blue or a blue-violet.

Unfortuantely the bird, like Recio said, can be only blue OR violet blue.

You cant get split Violet in any colour range, it either is, or isnt. Thats how the mutation behaves.

Thankfully blue and violet is quite easy to tell appart in their pure forms, so maybe a pic could best help what it is?

I don't know a lot about genetics but I could tell that the breeder that told me that the bird was split to violet did not know much either.
