Hello again A breeder friend of mine has suggested diluted Dettol as a means of controlling lice and also as a general aviary cleaner.Anyone got ant ideas on this or is a commercial bird product better? (BTW I dont have a lice problem at the moment just want to prevent getting any)

I have not heard about using detol either.
I use the same as Julie, avian liquidator, it is a great product for killing lots of nasties. I spray it in the aviary to help keep spiders, (red backs mainly) and other insects at bay.

Never heared of detol, but facing facts the live control spray is not expensive for how often you use it.. its quite cheap actually, premade and 100% safe for any of your birds.
