Most of my birds are in outdoor aviaries, but I do have a few that I raised inside. Mjays "Sunny" is one of my babies and I still have 2 brother/sister here. Plus I have a green ringie called "Junior 'G' " from last season to. "Junior" was actually taken out of the nest a few days before he began to fly but "he" has never bitten or shown any aggrestion and is the sookiest ringie I have so far. I am wondering if being an only child had anything to do with his personality as no aggression would be needed for competition from parents for food etc. Just a thought!

all of my birds, except the breeding pair of IRN are inside birds and very tame pets that play with us every day. And then if i wanted to bring Kai in from the aviary I am sure I still could, he comes to us and feeds from our hands and still gives kisses for treats even though he is out in the aviary breeding with Mickey. So basically only one IRN is not tame, although she too comes to the side of the aviary to talk to us now

sadly, I only have one IRN, and no other birds. I think my hubby would lose his mind if I got more than that! Although he did get Skittles for me, I think he was tired of me mourning my quaker...
we also have 2 cats, 2 dogs, and 2 kids.... I keep telling the hubby that everything else is in pairs, we should have one more IRN too! oh well....

hehe.. i had a difficult time begging my hubby for another one too. It took me almost a whole year to do it. I ended up with Anakin. I did that on the basis that I will
try to get them to get along well enough to be in the same cage. ;) guess what.. they are now going to have their own separate cages, but double stacked to save space in my rather space-challenged house. Maybe a conure for Skye's current cage some day. ;) I think he really wants an african grey.
Some advice.. introduce your man to as many different kinds of parrots as possible. I took Anthony to a parrot bird store. That's where he got to play with ringnecks that actually like him (Skye is bonded with me, but will only step up for Anthony). Then he met someone's grey in the store and he was sold on the idea of getting one some day. Yes it's quite easy

Today my hubby told me he really wants a cockatoo! unbelievable! I don't know how well one would get along with Skittles though, and so far, we have never found one in our budget range...so, I will have to keep doing research and see!
