Molting???? Pin feathers on head?? Pulling out feathers

Post by dduncan »

Hi all,
I would like to thank you again for answering all my emails.
Another question? So IRN's go through a molting period?? My bird seems to be pulling feathers all day long. He has lost his tail feathers, and some wing feathers. He has what we call pin feathers on his head. It almost looks like he has a hole in his head. How long does this last?
Also, are IRN's always so moody?

Hi,
This is my 2yr. 3mo old Jasper(Jazzy). He is a real sweetheart most of the time. He loves to talk and whistle, and yes, Screech at times. We are getting to understand each other. He is my only pet.

It depends on the bird, if it wants to be moody then it will.
I think the molt does not last long, i can't wait until i see
my bird molt for the first time..lucky you.

If I saved all the feathers I could make him a girlfriend.
