I couldn't resist. I was down at Bass Coast Auctions today and saw this up on the agenda. I waited 2.5 hours for the lot number to come up and ended up bringing her home. Bronze and marble - Lady with Bird.

Don't know much about it .. have been trying to research it and all I can find of the name is a relationship to a place in the Himalayan region, Kumaun folk (Indian), Pahari art is generally considered to be a reflection of delicacy and grace. It is also influenced by peace and serenity of the hills. The name on the leg relates to this art. Then again having a signature doesn't make it definately an original, it could be a replication, but what a beautiful one. Its definately Bronze and Marble so very good quality and so beautiful to look at in real life, I will treasure it forever.

It is !! thats why I had to have it. I have only ever seen macaws or eagles etc. So needless to say, when I saw the IRN I just HAD to have it.

i know what you means one of my local shops has a huge assortment of life like bird statues & it seems they have almost every kind of bird ..........but indian ring necks
its so unfair!!!!
