I just got my first IRN pair 2 days ago. when ever I get near their cage they get frightened, the females screams and bites the male, is that normal behaviour??? should I separate them if I want to tame and train them?? they are around one and half year old.....

Where did you get the birds from?
Are they a breeding pair?

I got them from pets shop, I got a pair because I don't stay much at home, and I thought one will feel bored.

I have a Male + Female in the same cage, as for breeding pair ?? but they like mounting at 06.00 when I'm up for work, Sex Mad. Wings are clipped so when the English weather permits I take them out on the Garden. When I got them they had'nt been handled and didnt mind taking a chunk or two out of me, but I have persisted and the Female is quite tame, Male is getting there, Only problem with them is THEY EAT EVERYTHING nothing is safe

I had two birds in a big cage and, after 12 months, introduced two new ones. After some suspicious creeping around, they are now fine. The original two are still bonded but the others have made the cage (and the rest of the house) their home, too.
