total chatterbox

my blue ringneck Toki has become a total chatterbox. Ever since we brought home a displaced quaker named Merlin, who has an excellent vocab of of 40 words and phrases, toki has been copying and mimicking everything merlin says. we are getting 2 or 3 new phrases a week out of him now. i think he copies the other bird, because he sees the attention he gets when he speaks for us. I must say there are a few choice words I wish i could delete from his repitoire, if ya catch my drift, but nontheless his progress has been very impressive. he has started taking more cues from me and is now starting to learn words i am teaching him, including one embarressing one he picked up from me while yelling at my 5 year old "get off the baby!!!" he loves to yell that now along with "i said go to bed!!!" double edged sword i guess eh?

I wish my IRN would repeat "i said go to bed" to my kids LOL
but they are still only babies, and i am sure mine will pick up some naughty words aswell lol
