i have a green male and lutino female, we have 4 eggs in the nest box and she is allways in there, when she began she laid an egg we noticed it and the next day it had a hole in it , and then the next day it was outside the nest box on the bottom of the cage ????and it appears it was placed there not tossed out ????as apart form the hole it was intact and wouldnt survive the fall without breaking i think?

so i am wondering as the rest , 4 more eggs came everyt other day after that , untill we have 4,

i am wondering the following, in relation to what colour thay will be? i can not use the color charts i have found and was hoping someone can answer or help so ,,,,female, lutino x male green

Correct me if I got you wrong... Your hen laid her first egg with a hole on it? If this true, give your bird more calcium..or supplement for calcium. biting the egg shell is a sign that your birds need more calcium.

I had a pair of these birds, Green Cock and Lutino Hen. Base on my experience, all of the chicks are GREEN/lutino. Colored green with a genes of Lutino. This means that your Green Cock is pure blooded GREEN and your Lutino HEN is also a pure blooded Lutino. No other genes that are hidden in their blood.

However, if your cock is GREEN/lutino and your hen is Lutino (pure), there is a chance that you can produce a Lutino chick but more you will produce a Green colored chick.

There is also a possibility that you can produce a BLUE chick if your hen is a GREEN/blue mutation.

It seems that birds can tell what eggs with hatch, if the baby is malformed, or the egg is infertile. Some hens will throw infertile eggs out of the nest or even destory eggs with malformed babies. That the other eggs have no sign of damage is a good sign. She may have just been culling the bad eggs out. ^_^
She should have cuttlebone on hand though at all times.
