If the ring starts appearing, do we have to do something?

Hello!
Well, here's what I mean. I'm going on vacations for two weeks, and Sam, my IRN, is staying home (if he/she does not stay in his cage in the same place he/she becomes stressed, etc.) I was wondering if by chance the ring grows when I'm on vacations (in those 2 weeks) I will not be there, but my grandfather yes, so what if the ring does come out? What should we (people) do? Or we just don't interfere? so I can tell my grandfather to do something if needed.

So, summarizing:
Do we have to do something if the ring starts appearing?

Thanks!

Nope you don't have to do anything. If the moult is bothering Sam you could have your grandfather give him a bath while you are gone. I hope you come home to a ring! Enjoy your vacation!

The only thing you need to do if the ring comes in is start calling him a boy.
