HI! My name is Julia Santana and my family and I live in WA state. We just adopted a male ringneck. Saturday we get to bring him home! We are so excited. Our birdy clan includes a cockatiel nambed Maggie and a canary named Ringo.
Rainbow, our ringneck was rescued from a home where he had plucked out his feathers. He looks very pathetic at the moment but some feathers are starting to grow back.
Any help and advise with making sure he adjust wells and gets along with Maggie our tiel would be greatly appreciated.

Heeellllooooo all the way from NSW Julia. Good on ya for rescuing poor Rainbow. Sounds like a sight!
Is he handraised or tame or an aviary bird? Assuming he is tame.
I would have a nice large cage ready with a few toys and chewable things for him along with cuttlebone etc.
Being his first day at your home, you could partly cover his cage with a sheet so if he wants a bit of "quiet time" he has a area to go to.
Another thing you could try is to find out what his fav food is and feed him that through the bars or if he is handlable, offer it to him when he is out with you. I have found a way to an IRN heart is through their stomach lol
My birds love lots of fruit and veg and I also give them seed, soaked seed, sprouted seed and pellets to choose from.
I think, depending on how your bird copes with his new enviroment, just take things slow and let him tell you how and when to make the next move. After all, you have lots of happy years ahead so no need to rush things....even though it is hard not to. lol
Oh and don't forget the all important pics. Especially a "before and after" shot to see how much he has improved.
We love to see updates and progress shots here.
Good luck with it all, and only ONE sleep to go lolol

Welcome! I'm also new here and new to ringnecks, so I'm looking forward to the same information. It'll be nice to see what folks have to say.
