Petting and noise making

well, it has been a few days since our new "hope" (i really don't like that name, my husband named her that) has taken any kind of chunk out of me 
!
i now can pet the back of her head and down her back (although she will not let me pet her under her wings or by the bottom of them). she kind of squats down and makes this small almost "baby talk" kind of noises. she will also close her eyes from time to time. she seems to be liking it. am i assuming right?
she still generally wants to bite my fingers and my arm if i stick them out there but she is also doing SOME gentle nibbling. it seems as though she is coming along quite well!
last week she ate my arm up BAD. i have 12 chunks of skin and meat taken out, and big bruises to show for that
