where i am from and in the summer time we get TONS of mosquitoes. are mosquitoes able to bite birds through their feathers? if so are they able to transmit heartworms? we have a huge heartworm problem in this part of the United States. I want to start taking her outside but i am unsure of the mosquitos problem. i know both cats and dogs can get them but like i said i am unsure about birds.
i know when i am outside they eat me up!

It seems as though parrots can contract a form of heartworm, but it also seems as though it's very rare especially outside of cockatoos and even then doesn't actually seem to make them very sick.

OH near Ft. Worth! not too terribly far at all! we used to drive up to dallas and ft. worth for the reptile shows up there all the time (we keep snakes and geckos too). I have a good friend up that way also that is a very large gecko breeder. she lives in white settlement

Ah, you're a few hours south of me.

One of my kids is a herper. He's bred cornsnakes and kingsnakes and recently got his first pair of ball pythons.
