Left Footed vs Right Footed

I've noticed some parrots eat with their right foot and some with their left. What does this mean? Is it true that which foot a bird is eating with may determine it's talking ability? There was a study on this wild flock of cockatoos. All these birds ate with their left foot. Cockatoos are known for being great mimics. I've noticed my bird, an IRN, eat with his left foot, too. He always does and always has. What's your experience with this? Tell me if your birds are right footed or left footed and how good they are at talking/mimicking other sounds.

Hi! My little buggerlugs is Left Footed too! He can already talk a few words from his previous owner, "Hello Beauty!" and "Beeeauuuutyyyy" He's only 2 and he has plenty of time to mimic me! I'm a chatterbox so he should have plenty to say soon!

hmm my little fella is lazy. hell find any way of eating his food without having to hold it. he uses the round wooden top of one of his toys as a table  i think he is a rightie though..
i just gave him a peanut and he held it in his right hand before putting it in his food bowl lol.

he cant talk overly well but hes only been trying the last few months to speak. he said a muffled hello the other day which was a shock

Hmmm. This could be quite an interesting study. Smokey definately eats with his right foot however I have taught him to do a high 5 with his left. He waves with his right, but once again, it was taught. As far as talking, he mimics the tone of my voice well and for the most, this is how I know what he's trying to say. There are only a few words he can say clearly and he is almost 3 years old. These words all include anything with 'pretty' (pretty bird, you're pretty, where's the pretty bird) and he love to say my partners name Brett, (he says breeeeeeeett) When he says 'hello' it is a little muffled but I know what he's trying to say, as I said, everything else is tone not words. He listens to a recording of my voice all day while I am at work, through a digital photo frame I place directly in front of his cage. It has made a little difference but he still mimics more the tone not the actual word. He is, by the way, extremely tame and very social and loves being cuddled, patted, beak & belly rubs and just lately he loves the back of his neck scratched especially when he sits on my knee for a sleep. He will also come to me when I tell him too. I am definately sure he understands what I say to him even though he doesn't speak very clearly back to me.

Petey eats with his right and my SC cockatoo eats with his left... his left foot is always dirty too with food all over it!
