Hi,

I have a pair of Alex's and the hen seems to be spending a lot of time in the nest box. She does come out, but if anyone goes near the aviary she goes straight back to the box. She has been doing this for a few weeks now.

I'm worried that she is spending soooo much time in there, she will miss the 'mating' part of it. There are definately no eggs in there.

What is a 'normal' amount of time for her to be spending in there? Any help in breeding them is much appreciated.

mine spent nearly all her time in there and the male just went in the box while they did their birdy business

Thanks for that. I guess they will figure out what they are doing. They have bred before (previous owner), so they do know how to do it.
