Ice?

I was wondering about ice - is it safe to allow the birds to play with an ice cube or two? Charlie Parker is fascinated by it and I we've been having record heat here so I floated one in his "wading pool" this weekend along with his usual bath toys. He tries to catch it in his beak (usually missing) and then splashes around looking for it when it disappears. On the rare occasion that he manages to catch a small piece he usually shakes it away (too cold to keep, I think) but I was a little worried that he might crack his beak if he did get in a good chomp, as I know that crunching ice is very bad for human teeth.

Hi Patrick, My Smokey loves ice. He licks it too. In the summer months when we buy icy poles, he loves to share, sometimes he takes bites that are too big and he shakes it everywhere  . Smokey likes to lick the outside of a glass filled with a cold drink.
