I have had my ringneck for about 6 weeks now. He or she is getting better with the nipping but still has my finger in bits. He or she is not tame and Im getting Frankie to step up on my hand every now and then. Bluffing stage is bad but anyway i was wondering why Frankies beak is all cracked. I tried to add a photo but says file to large.

Your bird has damaged it's beak, give it cuttlebone or calcium supplement, it will grow out over time, but a badly damaged beak needs veterinary attention. Your bird is nipping you because it is scared or angry at what you are doing.
