What happened? So sudden.

Hi Guys,
I joined these forums yesterday for tips and tricks in regards my IRN.
Unfortunately this morning, 5am, i found my ringy dead on the bottom of his cage. "Birtie" was a 4 month old Blue with Black speckled wings, an absolute gorgeous bird that was already parrot whistling and responding to voice commands. He would come to me on the command "go" He would fly to his cage ont he command "home" He would also go to my kids pencil case and get a pencil when i said "find"
So instead of introducing myself and my friend, i am asking if anyone would have any idea as to what the cause of death may have been. Birtie was healthy and very playful yesterday morning. However when i returned home he was perched on the top of his cage, sleeping, and in a fluffed state. He would not step up and he seemed very lathargic. I thought he may just be tired, he eventually jumped on my shoulder and went to sleep. I put him to bed at 9pm, that was the last interaction the family had with Bertie.
His diet consisted purely of Apple (treat) and Parrot mix with the odd carrot thrown in. As i said he was healthy and happy only 24 hours ago.
This was my first ring neck, i am now a bit put off to get another.
