im having an interesting time with bed time with kieron as advised by a few people ivenot been forcing the issue with taming and letting him set the pace as he has been an avairy bird for a while but at bed time he doesnt want to go back in his cage i have been gently herding him into the hall way and then waiting toill he is totaly calm then scoop himup with the towel
my question is will this make him even less trusting of hands?
is there any other way to get him in the cage
the other thing that has me pondering is last night i tried to towel him in the room his cage is in but he wasnt having any part of it so i open the hall door he went straight there and in 2 minutes is the hallway at bedtime becoming a ritual for us?
bed time issues help neede

I just had a similar thread
http://www.indianringneck.com/board/vie ... php?t=5596
basically my boy HAS to be in his cage before we have dinner otherwise it is chaos! So take a peek at my thread and see if you can find anything helpful in there... he is now used to his cage and not scared of it (took him a while to adjust to a new place and cage) I give him some dinner in his bowl of what we are having a piece of baby corn, bit of fruit whatever.... before I bring our dinner into the dining room I just wait for him to go get it then I close his door.. it's his routine ..
Last night he wasn't as impressed though I tried with the stick for a while but he always fly's off right before we get to the cage... in the end I had to offer him something more enticing to get him in..

i think the problem is his cage the door is different and its smaller than what he was used to at his old home (he is newly adopted & was previously in an avairy) the cage he is in was only bought to travel him in as i was hoping he & riku would share her 6foot by three foot by 2 foot indoor caqge but no such luck
he is allowed in it to investigate & to play but he is not allowed to eat in the big cage according to riku but the main point is he will fly into rikus cage all the time but never into his own i think im going to have to start shopping around for another one like rikus i guess but when i bought that it was on sale for under $200 oh well i just hope i can find somewhere that accepts layby
