You can not possibly handle your baby too rough accidently. I got nowhere with my 10 wk IRN while I was babying her. Once I realized I wasn't going to hurt her, she likes being reached down and scooped up WAY better than being scared and chased.
I learned this when I went to have her wings clipped. I got REALLY mad at the vet and told him not to be so rough with her

. He actually thought I was kidding. He spent extra time with me teaching me to be more aggressively, hands-on and she and I are much happier.
Also, if she gets scared she will scream. If she gets hurt she will do so as well, but it sounds different. The more you handle your baby, the better off you both are. Trust me... flip her over and give her a big kiss on the tummy. She'll love ya for it. Besides, being timid is simply going to allow her to take advantage of you, as my baby was. Remember, they have the mentality of a 2-5 yr old.
Good luck, post often and lets us know how it works out!
