Mylo is so beautiful, I love her very powder blue color. Amazing that she does not fly off. My birds could definitely fly on just three feathers, actually I think they could fly on one feather, they are persistent!

Your bird is so cute.

You could have a point there grelo. I have a galah that had her wings clipped since young and I had to teach her to fly when her feathers grew out. Took some encouragement to show her that her wings were for flying lol. She used to climb or walk everywhere lol

Let's see, my two males became capable fliers prior to their first wing clip. Even clipped they can fly, though not as well as unclipped. Most of the time I leave them fully flighted and only clip when they become difficult.

However, I have a female that I bought at about 6 mos old. She came with clipped wings. I think they clipped her before she learned to fly and she is very clumsy. I am trying to teach her to fly and she is quite a poor flier.

She still does not have new wing feathers (and I have now had her 6 months) but I am hoping she'll be better when she has more feathers. I want her to fly b/c she is a neurotic type and I think flying would be good for her. She basically never tries to fly on her own.
