Hi I am currently in the process of building another aviary. At the moment I have Budgies, quail ,Zebra finches and cockatiels in one aviary and i was looking at Purchasing a couple of pairs of IRNs. Is it safe to have cockatiels and IRN in one avary 4m long by 3 m wide by 2 m high., or should i have IRNs strictly on their own. If they are to be left alone would an avaiary 3mx2mx2m be ample for two pairs. Thanks

hi
no, irns must be alone in the aviary and only one pair per aviary.
can you make 2 aviaries 3*2*1 m or 1,5*2*2m?
i Have irns in cages, a pair per cage 1*0,6*1,8 m.
It would be better in a larger cage but i havent more space for that.

Thanks I too am limited for space however i may be able to convert the larger aviary into 2 or perhaps just have one pair in the new aviary. This would be the easiest option. Once again thanks for your advice.

It is possible to have 2 or more pairs irns in the same aviary, but it must be enough large and i think yours isnt.
If you want, you can try to put 2 pairs in the same aviary with two nests ( far the one to other), but you have pay attention for fights or injuries, especially between females and at the breeding season.
A pair per aviary is sure better and safier, anyhow.
Dont mix irns with other species.
