Housing male & female in large cage

Post by Pommeraniac »

Hello everyone,

I have not posted here in a very long time. I have had my Lutino Ringneck for 1 1/2 years now. Still very very tame, never went through the stage of biting etc. I have been thinking about getting a female companion for him. I want to build an outside cage / aviary, but don't know what the minimum size should be for housing a male and female. Any suggestions. I found a small aviary online for sale but the dimensions are 5 feet tall, 3 1/2 feet wide and 2 feet deep. Would that be large enough for both of them?

Thanks,

Generally, tame pet IRNs wont be, if they are paired with the other sex. If your wanting your bird to be a companion bird and stay tame, its best not to pair him up.
