Can IRNs tell each others sex?

I have two ringnecks both about 14/15 months (I am guessing) and one displays typical male behaviour all the time and the other female, with the trance dance for him and the head back clucking thing for her.
Petey (green) always does his male dance to the cage, toys, perches etc, until last night when they were both eating off a plate together he did it towards her!
Also a few days ago they were on curtain rod together, and she was sitting still, he walked up to her, stood up tall and put his beak on hers, then he walked away, came back and did it again, and he kept doing it and only stopped when she fell asleep!
Is this normal behviour?
By the way, she doesn't like him
