That a very general non sex specific behaviour as far as I am concerned. If you told me your bird rocked its head back when you scratch its neck that would prompt thoughs of female, if you said it did some crazy jumping (pinning the eyes) dance, then I would say male, but what you describe is a general IRN behaviour to me.

 Hmm, I always thought it was a male thing. I must be mistaken! From my observations, every birdys 'man dance' is a little different. Jibby just runs his beak along a perch or ground, then waves his head in a circular motion whilst pinning and clicking his beak at planes, helicopters and his bell. No jumping, not tail fan.. just that. Yoda does the whole jumpin pinning tail wigglin shabang which he could not of learned off Jibby!

Hey,
Thanks for the reply. They are so funny when they do the dance. Mine will do it when he sees him self on the bottom of his bowl or when he gets out there is this screw thing that holds his rope on and he LOVES that thing. So but he getts his wings out and like moves in kinda circluar direction. ANd pins his eyes and gets his neck back like you can see. He also will run around the toy and pin his eyes and like move his head away from it. And make some noise.

They make great pets. And i loving one!
