yup.
as good as i think chets training program is, i think he's a little devious about his advertising.

i have used some of his tecniques. they work great, but his product seems to be well over priced.

Cute video. Had me bopping along too!

I have bought the taming and tricks video from Chet and I must admit it is very good, if you have the time and the patience, you can really make it work for you and your bird.

I also bought the talking video, cd and manual from them. That was a waste of money to be honest and I would have to agree with Gemstone on that one.

we did buy the taming tips and tricks dvds.
kind of felt the same, waste of cash. you have to learn it first of course, and when we got it, we wanted more so to get the bird ON our hand to start with, and it just wasnt the 'newbie bird owner' thing they said it was. or so we thought.
loaned them to a mate the other day he said hed only watch the 1st 20 mins, coz the rest was all just the tricks and waving etc.

the basis of his training is using the clicker.
clicker training is actually really easy when you learn the basics.
positive behaviour = marker (click) = reward. thats simple.
i found a free yahoo group with all the details on it, and it's targeted at birds.

I bought those trick DVDs a long long time ago. Haven't used them yet. I just haven't had the time.

And instead of a clicker, you can just use 'good bird' or any other audible sound and that becomes your clicker. That way you don't have to have a clicker on hand all the time. Though, if you're mute, clickers are perfect. You just need the same sound every time.
