Hello Everyone!
Our family has just increased with the acquisition of a two month old Turquoise Ringneck. We are calling him Cody. He (we think) is quickly becoming part of our flock. I'm sure I will have lots of questions and will need your help to figure out the answers. I currently have a dog, and fish and my family of four children also have two cats, a dwarf rabbit, a frog and three pet rats. We recently lost our "Mr D" who was a thirteen year old cockatiel. Thus we decided to "upgrade" to the Ringneck.

Hello again Everyone,
Cody and the family are doing great. We are so thankful that the person (breeder) we brought him from did such a wonderful job hand raising him and training him. He is only two months old and can be handled and even turned over onto his back. Steps up "most" of the time onto my finger. Of course there are times that he just doesn't "want " to (like to go back into his cage). Mostly likes to be petted on the back of his head. Breeder also trained him to be grabbed from behind so he never fights me when I need to grab him.
He seems to prefer to have his fresh food clipped onto the side of his cage with something so he can eat it like it was in a tree. Or of course for one of his "family" to hold it while he eats it. Question - Does anyone know of a holder that I could get somewhere I've been using a strong metal clip but it just cuts into the food and it falls.Here is a picture but it seems to show up more green than he really is.

This is just an example site, but you could find local sites or maybe on ebay where they sell skewers to pierce food onto, or even at the local pets store or feed barn. They look like this;

my fids like to hold their own food, so they bite bits off and hold them.
