Notice the black spot on the side of his neck? It's a feather! He's got all more black feathers around his beak and under his neck there are little black stumps.
He's looking a bit scruffy at the moment though.
Does anyone know how long it takes to moult?

could be a few weeks, a few months, all depends. The ring will come in as if by magic over the next few months and will look rather full but get darker and more defined over the next year or so. this is what happened with my Kai anyway.

He's certainly not looking his best at the moment. He's not complaining though because he's getting extra attention from me.

He's quite a good colour now. I'll post a pic once I get the daughter off to school this morning.
