Sophie becomes Sydney

So much for the great female debate 
With this last molt my sophie started to show a ring!!!! Looks like its a male after all. Will the whole ring show during this molt or will he just have the partial and the next molt will bring the rest? Is there a general rule of thumb? He is still in the middle of the molt so he may just have it once hes done, but I wasnt sure how this works.
Since the man that had him passed away I was told he was 2 1/2 yrs old and female guess nobody planned on this morph! ha ha
