Bluffing and more

Post by lutino »

Is bluffing actually biting or pretending to bite, or both?
Lutino is about 7.5 months and ive had him/her since about 4 months old. He/she still really hates hands touching the feathers and will lunge at me and also bite really hard. He/she doesnt have too much of a reaction if i touch him/her with my nose though lol. He/she is very territorial over my mirror and sometimes lunges and hisses if i go near the mirror.
Does this sound like bluffing, or is my IRN just territorial?
Recently i put notes for my exams around my walls, including near the mirror. His/her first reaction was to rip them off!!!
I think lutino is trying to say his/her name! Lutino hangs from the mirror and chatts away saying things that dont sound bird like lol, and they seem to be getting clearer all the time :D

Sounds like Lutino is territorial. But could also be bluffing. Bluffing can be lunging/hissing/growling/biting at you and can sometimes be confused with being territorial too. They can be pretending to bite just to scare you off or just bite you to tell you to go away.

But at 7.5 months its possible Lutino could be bluffing. Alot of IRNs dont like hands or us touching parts of their bodies though. I've had Jibby almost 7 years and I can only scritch his head and neck and wipe his beak when he gets messy. No touching the belly! I've only recently been able to touch his feet. But when it suits him. I'm trying to get him to let me touch his toes so I can clip them.

 Lutino probebly thinks the birdie in the mirror is a mate.
