as you all know that i kinda rescued rose from not very nice people where she was only fed sunflower seeds
so when i got her she had some chewed up feathers
but at that time i dint know better and i thought it was just a molt as she would not let me touch her feathers
i couldnt see closely
but now as she trusts me so much and lets me touch her everywhere
i looked right at the begining (or end which ever you all call it ) where they grow from and i can actually see that the feathers are sort of eaten or filed (u know like nail filing) and they are not grown like fluffy feathers
this is the case in her wings as well as tail

you see when you see her from outside she looks fine
but the tail feathers and the wing feathers are grown in bad shape

one more thing is that her wings are clipped in the most bazaaar manner
i mean

plus i dnt even know her age so

i know that the quality is not very good
but in my chrismas list digital camera is the first

Aww she is very patient with you!! mine would of already had a finger or two.. I don't think you have to worry about her feathers to me the wings look like they just got a horrible trim and they will eventually come back in with a couple of good molts. The tail feathers look like she was just in a very small cage at one time and broke and ruffled the tail feathers. They too will come back in with a good diet and a suitable cage.

I too think it looks like a bad trim and poor care. Sometimes when they receive a bad trim, they can begin to pick at the sharp uneven feathers that have been cut. I think, if you can, let her moult out old feathers and grow back full flight feathers, then clip her clean and evenly.

The thin beginnings of the tail feathers could be from injury from a tail through bars of a cage that was too small for her, or such.

i also think its nothing to really worry too much about, just watch out for her picking and biting too much at them, preening will be more of a nibble and swipe along the feathers action rather than a chewing at the feathers.

I am sure now she has proper care with you she will pick up with her feather condition in no time.

Gosh, you are lucky shes so patient! She looks so relaxed. Yoda would be putting up a fight and Jibby would just pick my nails.

The feathers don't look to good! Poor lil girl. Have you taken her to the vet to see if shes healthy? Feather condition can be a sign of health problems. Well, thats what my vet told me.

I hope they grow back and more beautiful than ever!
