My lutino sometimes hisses at me when he/she is in the cage lol. Is this a sign he/she is angry with me for some reason? It never does it to me when its out though

I don't think it means s/he's angry with you, just that s/he wants to be left alone or not touched.

I think your Lutino is a lil possessive of the cage. Its natural for them to defend their 'stuff'. He/she is probebly saying 'back off from MY cage'. But we don't encourage this behaviour. I find ignoring the hissing, growling and biting helps. If you back away they've won. So I just go about what I was doing. (cleaning, picking them up for playtime..). Lutino isnt angry with you just defending his/her cage.

Peanut does the same thing sometims when other birds get to close to his cage. He hisses and if they touch his cage or toys he does his little death scream

Lauren is right on the money! Go about your business ignoring any unwanted behavior. I know Archimedes went through a stage of protecting his cage as well. I got through it by ignoring any aggressive behavior. Do not even make a reference to it…such as….. “ohhh stop that!” just ignored it. The best remedy is to completely ignore the unwanted behavior.

Also, never let the ringneck come out of the cage followed by you picking him up. If he wants out, he must step on your hand while inside the cage to come out. This lets him know you are the only link out for play time.

Ohhhh, the death scream! Yep, my lil Yoda does this at Jibby everytime he eats. Yoda hangs on the side of Jibbys cage and stares at him eating in his cage and starts the lil car alarm death scream. Hehe.
