Beak losing color

Post by LAAnnie »

My green ringneck's beak used to be bright red. But lately, I noticed patches of grey, like the red has worn off or something. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks all!

Have you noticed PeeGee rubbing his beak on perches or cage bars? Females beaks do become a little lighter with age. But to be on the safe side I would consult your avian vet to rule out illness.

If unsure of any changes in your bird it is a good idea to consult an avian vet.

Also provide alot of vegetables. Ive noticed Jibbys beak and feathers look alot more vibrant since hes eating pellets and alot of greens.

Has your bird had a change in diet?
