Well guys here is Sapphire - still very spooky when I took the pix but I guess will settle down in time.
We are going to the vet tomorrow to have our wings clipped, and a new cage will be arriving this week or next (courtesy Ebay - wonderful site that!) and then the taming can start - I hope!

Apparently just coming up to five months old, but I'm thinking that I should find out exactly, so will be asking the place I got it from - keep wanting to say "he".

What a pretty baby. Hope Sapphy calms down soon and comes out to play; does look a little nervous about things at the moment!

Dani - you are greedy!! I don't actually have any more until I can work out how to get the snapshots off the movie film that I took!
Won't be taking many for a while either - thought I would do the right things never having had anything to do with birds, let alone clipping wings, so I took Sapphire to the vet - oh boy what a mess - he started with cutting the secondary feathers, then left the four outer flight feathers. I asked when he was going to do the other wing, and he told me that you didn't do that because they couldn't fly with the way he had done the clipping. Then put Sapphire on top of the cage, who promptly flew around the room fairly high and I had conniptions. So we came home, and I got out my little clippers (that I use on the poodles claws) and cut the other wing only the long flight feathers, and the others that were left - poor bird, it really does not look good, so now we have to wait until it moults to get proper proportions again. I will be doing the other birds myself!

adorable, the blues are so pretty, one day imma have me one of every colour (cept the really 'spensive mutations lol)
seems a lot of people feel that only 1 wing needs to be clipped, but the 1st vet trip baby had, i was asked why only 1 wing had been done, and told to do both in future to prevent possible injuries from having half flight.
Arch's wings are like that at the moment, only one done, and boy can he take off even like that, next week, both babies are heading off to visit Dr. Gallagher for clipping and checkup and hopefully a way to put an end to squeakin for food
