Are Pecan shells safe?

Is there any reason not to feed my bird a pecan in hte shell. He really enjoys rolling it around and working on it.

I would assume yes but I honestly do not know the answer to this.
They love to chew wood. They are going to naturally love to chew shells. Do shells contain poisons? I sure wouldnt think so but again...
I dont know. I do know I would let my Baby do it. I see no harm in it. If there is however, we will hear about it very soon.
