Hi and thanks for allowing us to join the forum. We bought our first IRN home on Monday our baby is 7 weeks old and just adorable. We were lucky enough to get him/her from a breeder who's children treated the baby birds like dolls and carted them around everywhere. Our Charlie is so tame we are very happy. He loves to step up onto our fingers, he loves kisses, he loves food !!!! and is just a joy at the moment.
Any information, tips etc., would be great as we are so new to these type of birds and don't really know the first thing about them. But I am now going to go through the posts and find as much info as I can.

Once again thanks for your time and we are excited to find out everything we can to make our new addition to the family as enjoyable as ever.

I have pictures just have to figure out how to post them. That's the next step

Glad to have another new member of the flock.
You will probably want to innoculate yourself right now
because if you don't you're likely to get MBS before a week
goes by.

Do you already have any other birds or is Charlie your only
bird at the moment?

Best advice, make him a part of your family. Let him take part in anything that isn't harmful to him. He'll reward you by his love and antics and be glad to be the most important member of the family and he will let you know it too.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.....our Charlie is our first bird and he's already taken over the household.....we are thinking of clipping his wings to make training and little easier.....he is starting to have is own personality and seems to sulk sometimes, loves rubbing his beak against our noses and is becoming very loud but still a joy.

We have just bought some pellets for him today as he doesn't seem to be eating his seed....well only the sunflower seeds, he eats peanutrs that's a treat, he loves apple, corn and watermelon. We have stopped giving him his hand raising formula although he still cries for it every afternoon he's 8 weeks old now and is well and truly part of the family.
