hi there, i have a pair of ringnecks breeding with chicks, i wanted to split the aviary up to put a cockatiel breeding pair next to them. Would this disturb them?

I am not a breeder but just common sense tells me if you have young babies right now in the nest or birds sitting on eggs, don't move anything until breeding season is over or the chicks are old enough to pull and hand feed. I wouldn't want them to abandon the babies or eggs if they were mine and I could wait to make the change.

My ringneck has a cockatiel as a pet, wife, whatever they have going on so Im not one to ask, HOWEVER, I know my birds and Baby would never hurt his Peaches.
To him, she is what makes life worth living. They perch together, shower together, sleep in the same cage together WHICH I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. A ringneck can easily kill or mame a 'tiel.
It comes down to knowing your birds. Hope I helped *some*

Ringnecks are not known for being kind. Your tiels could lose a toe or two through the bars. But I agree, you don't want to disturb them until the chicks are pulled or weaned. It could become too much of a distraction.
